...and thought, "What the hell did I ever see in this flick?"  I'm currently watching The Goonies for the first time in 25 years or so, and I'm not sure I can finish it, it's so bad.  I had forgotten that freaking Short Round was in this movie.  He alone makes it unwatchable.  I can't believe they gave him another shot after Temple of Doom.

The goonies is a total kid movie and I  have watched it several times as my kids grew up. I wouldn't pick it out as a movie to watch but when my grandchildren watch it I will too.

I introduced my children to Godzilla movies as soon as they were old enough. I love all of them no matter how cheesy they are.

Another example: Iron Eagle.  This was my absolute favorite movie back in the day.  Now I watch as a group of kids sneaks on to an Air Force Base, steals a squadron of F-16s, flies them to the Middle East, and rescues one of the kids' POW father, and I just SMH.  I can only suspend my disbelief so far.  Maybe a stint in the real AF taught me better.

Lol, yeah that's a good example.  I wore my vhs copy of that movie out as a kid.

I loved Iron Eagle as a kid. Hadn't even thought about it in years though. Now I'm gonna have to look for it on Netflix.

Watch Highlander. It's really not as good as I thought it was when it came out

I see the problem here...y'all were stupid as kids

If you watch "Benji" it is still as good today as it ever was.

I didn't like Goonies that well to begin with, and my opinion hasn't changed that much...

Over The Top with Sly Stallone

I've been looking for the video, but can't find it.  Anyway, Stallone was on SNL and there was this skit where Norm Macdonald was just going off on his movies.  Paraphrasing:

"Over the Top, now there's a great movie.  It combines the emotional trauma of a divorce and child custody battle with...arm wrestling.  You know, Kramer vs. Kramer was a great movie about a child custody battle, but it was missing something...Oh wait, I know- arm wrestling."

EDIT:  Found it.

Goonies was and is one of my favorite movies of all time.

My brother and I screened Over the Top at our 10th birthday party in the party room at Mr. Gatti's.  It made for a legendary night.
