Obviously the Vols coaching job is not the coaching job to end all coaching jobs like some fans think. I saw where Gundy said no. Why can't the Vols go after a top tier current head coach. How did Ark get Bielima? Why not Miles or someone of that caliber. I just feel the Vols job is not an easy sell. How good is Strong? We don't really know. Sure he took Louisville to a BCS bowl. But Vandy could probably had just as good a record with the Louisville schedule.

I do not believe Gundy said no. I don't think Gundy was ever officially offered.

Look at all the spread type teams they look pretty scoring all those points. But when they face a physical team....uh oh

Arkansas did not hire a top tier coach, 2nd tier at best.  And given recruiting aspect, I would far and away rather have Strong.
