1 - Texas - They really have no excuse to have a class ranked 23rd with the talent they have in-state. They haven't really been getting it done while getting that talent, thanks to Mack Brown (Fulmer II). Add Major Applewhite scandal and aTm's surge and it doesn't look good.

2 - Oklahoma - Stoops has been at Oklahoma a while now, and his teams are not really getting that type of production as they were when he started out. His class ranked 15th, and they're not winning Big 12 titles much.

3 - Penn State - They really haven't been that relevant lately, but they could slide into obscurity soon

4 - Missouri - They had some good years in the Big 12, but will struggle in the SEC. Class ranking was 48

5 - Georgia Tech - They were a part of the national scene, but have started sliding. Their class ranking - 84

With the Texas brand and the in-state talent, if they don't have a top 10 class every year something is wrong. I can't believe they're still letting Mack hang around.

Not sure OU belongs on that list yet.  Bad recruiting class, yes, but they were in the conversation for the NC this year.   Sounds relevant to me.  Down for sure, but hardly out.   If Stoops doesn't reverse the momentum, they might be in trouble but they're still near the top IMO.

I have no dog in this fight, but I do enjoy seeing A&M surpass the mighty Longhorns.  Texas has tried to rule not only everything in its state, but in its conference to (my, my...who does that sound like?). And A&M finally had enough and said, screw you. And now they are getting the better talent and have a better outlook.

Penn State won 8 games last year even with all the off the field issues so I wouldn't say they are sliding plus the #1 QB in the country stayed solidly committed through all of it.

helps to be in the Big "I can't count" conference. But they will slide. They don't have many weapons for Hackenberg. IMO he made a poor choice of college to go to.
