So, Droner - doesn't this kind of win deserve a special occasion off season wine post?

Indeed it does.

I'm celebrating with a delicious bottle of Pride Mountain Vineyards Viognier (2010)($40.00). This is one of the best Viogniers that I drink. There's plenty of bight fruit, the spice that is typical of Viognier and excellent acidity that cleans it all up on the finish. As I've said before, it's an expensive California white wine (Sonoma). Pride wines are fairly pricey. But they also very good.
