As long as the checkerboard effect is subtle, I like what I read-- especially the state of TN patch.

What scares me more than any uniform changes (I like those, btw) is the looming contract negotiations. Will UT finally give in and switch to Nike? I know it's kinda silly, but I do NOT want UT to be a Nike school. I like Adidas. I wouldn't mind Under-Armour, but no Nike please!!

Unlikely as Hart is familiar with them. I hope we stay with Adidas, though.

It'd be nice to see a sample. Until then I'll reserve judgement.

The decision will be about $. I don't want the NIKE circus in town but if they shake out the moola then that's where we'll be.

UA sucks. Inferior products at an inflated price.

I don't like their prices, but the products are anything but inferior. Best brand on the market right now in terms of durability and performance.

Not in shoes in my experience. Shoes and Cleats suck. wear out easily.

As for apparel, it is good, but I don't see much difference between them, Reebok and Adidas in performance stuff. Yet they are priced like Nike.

Last winter I was at Bass Pro looking for some cold weather gear and I was shocked to see how high the UA gear was.  An UA hoodie was a good $15-$20 more than a North Face one, and I always thought NF was the expensive stuff.

Cracka puhleaze.  BPS is like heaven on earth.

Under Armour is to apparel as Apple is to personal computing...its hipness allows it to be severely overpriced. I don't buy a lot of it for that very reason, but I've always been very pleased with any UA gear I've owned.

For cold weather gear I actually prefer Columbia to Northface or UA. It isn't hardly as good as either of the others, but IMO the price of Northface jackets make cannot be justified by the performance of the product.

I don't care if Adidas and UA want to change our primary color to pink, I would still take them over the devil nike.

I've always bought Adidas UT stuff, because I wanted to be "official".  But I'll wear knockoff Walmart crap before I'll wear anything with that goddamn swoosh on it.

Columbia makes excellent fleeces, but I do own two pair of NF shoes and they are some of the best I've owned.  Hey yeah!  NF cleats!!

Y'all burn money to keep warm? Regardless, here's my unsolicited take.

1) Clearance is indeed a wonderful time to get stuff.
2) BPS is crazy expensive.
3) My UA shorts and t-shirts have held up well, but not neccessarily better than other gear. I know nothing about UA shoes.
4) Cabela's and LL Bean's non-name brand stuff is great. It's all coming from the same plant in Lesotho or Bangladesh anyway. Really.
5) Dollar General has cheap breathable shirts that work quite well...and they are on clearance about this time of year.

Wait. You call BPS expensive and then turn around and mention LL Bean? If I could get LL Bean stuff for the same price as I can get BPS stuff, I'd look like I just stepped out of the LL Bean winter catalog.
