As promised, here's Geddy Lee and Rush, doing what they do.

It's kind of hard to take Primus seriously, but there's no doubting Les Claypool's ability.

Here's Cream, doing their version of Robert Johnson's "Crossroads".  If you can somehow get past Clapton's brilliance, listen for Jack Bruce's amazing bass work.

In all seriousness, Gene $immons is viewed as one of these rock stars who is all about marketing and money first and music second, but he's a very underrated bass player.  He's no Geddy Lee, obviously but he's a perfectionist and his playing is at very least consistent.

If Jack Bruce hadn't been on this list, I would have considered all the lists no longer had merit.

This one was over from the initial post. Would submit Steve Harris from Iron Maiden or Chris Squire from Yes, but not above Geddy or Les. Les is a weird dude, but he is good.

All I can say about Vinnie's submission is: Man if you ever get this guy on your side he will always have your back! Brought Gene into the discussion. I'm not gonna argue. I may need Vinnie to back me up one day. Heh

-No submission. Thread conceded. gg-

The bass line in this song is what makes it.
