I love Mac and can't imagine him in another uniform.  But the Braves are already saddled with two of the worst contracts (to this point) in MLB, and Gattis isn't even arbitration-eligible for another three years.  It would be fiscally irresponsible to pick up an 8 figure option on another catcher.  Maybe if the Braves still had money to burn like they did in the Ted Turner days they could keep him, but not anymore.

McCann is the guy to whom you can't justify paying the big salary but the guy you'll miss when he's gone.
