A team wins 3 of the last 4 national championships, and some Alabama fans and writers are absolutely ready to crucify Nick Saban because they say he just doesn't get the Alabama-Auburn rivalry. Clearly this loss is pinned squarely on Saban, but if there was ever a fan base that could rival Kentucky basketball when it comes to a delusional lack of perspective, it's obviously Alabama. The TideFans.com website even has a column saying that someone must "stand up" to Saban and demand that he take the Iron Bowl more seriously. It's laughable. If Texas decides the time is right to get rid of Mack Brown, this might be a good excuse for Saban if he's interested in the job.

On a more somber note, we're now staring the possibility square in the face that Ohio State could play for the national championship against a Florida State team fielding a 3rd string QB. What a shame that would be.

I think MichSt can beat OhioSt, and maybe SHOULD.

But somehow Corch Meyers always manages to come out golden.

If he manages to win the NC this year, under these circumstances, against THAT schedule, it will be the biggest sham since BYU in 84.

Hate to say it, but am not sure I would pull for MichState, as a MS win could very well put Bama back in the NC.  That is something I could never pull for, regardless of who else is in the NC.  Seems like this happened to Bama a couple of years ago.

That's true and would be a nightmare. But if Auburn takes care of business and wins the SECCG, Bama would not jump Auburn. Of course, that assumes Auburn takes care of business. Missouri (probably) or South Carolina will be a tough opponent for Auburn.

Not likely.  Assuming Mizzou holds on here against aTm, then the SECCG would act as a defacto semifinal game (again).

I'm no SEC loyalist, but if it comes down to having to choose one or the other, I choose Alabama in the BCSNCG rather than Ohio State. My disdain for Urban Meyer is that strong.

Exactly.  If Mizzou had lost, then there is the possibility that MSU beats OSU, USC jr beats Auburn, and only bammer is left to face a depleted FSU.

With Mizzou winning, that possibility is gone.  There is not a voter in the country that would vote bammer over Mizzou if Mizzou beats Auburn.

And frankly, there is no guarantee that Famous Jamious will be unable to play.  I have no idea if the case against him has merit or not.  If he is guilty, throw him under the jail.   But who knows if and when they will even decide to press charges?

He may well end up playing in the NC anyway....
