If yaw yaw goes there the $800,000 band may have to go on welfare

What's going on at Bama?  That's the second coach to leave and make a lateral move.

If you coach for Saban and don't win championships you get canned.

That would stun me Phil, and would truly signal to me that Saban has lost it.

Yeah, no defending Saban if that were to happen.

There's no "defending" him for anyone wearing orange, period, dot.

IMO....

Some shake up going on. Some from Nick Saban and some not. Saban thought the offense should have been better, and note he called Kiffin in for a review of what they were doing on that side of the ball. Nuss got the message and from what I understand there wasn't a big push to keep him. On the other hand, I think Rumph left on his own free will, at least from what I can tell. Nick Saban is extremely demanding and coaches work virtually 24/7/365, so some coaches are willing to do this, and some aren't. From the names being listed as interested, I expect a coach to be named at least as well thought of as Rumph. A lot of candidates want to work for Saban, long hours or not, because he can help them move up the ladder in the business.

With Georgia DC Todd Grantham moving on (good for the Dawgs), you can bet Kirby Smart's name will be foremost in the the Dawg's minds for DC (very good for the Dawgs). Rumors are they will also offer the former Georgia player the title of  Head Coach in Waiting and some don't expect Richt to coach more than two more seasons. If they offer that position I think there is a great possibility he'll take it with a chance FSU DC and former Tide coach and player Jeremy Pruitt returning to Bama.

Also, there could be more to come.

Coaches in waiting haven't exactly been good things to be - see Muschamp at Texas and PH when he was at Maryland, for example.

Agree. I posted on one of the Tide boards that the only way I could see him doing that is for some guarantee on that waiting time. Although Smart is a Georgia alum, he's already turned them down a couple of years ago. I would assume that is the reason the rumor includes that title. The other obvious question about that rumor is why Richt would agree to leave after a short time.  Some say that's his own plan, but if it is then it's news to me. The rumor is coming from so-called Georgia insiders, so who know if it has any merit.

BTW, Bo Davis recently announced as the new USCw DL coach, and formally of Texas, Bama, and LSU is now rumored to have agreed to a deal to return to the to Bama as DL coach. He was formally with the Tide from 2007-2010. Don't think they talked to Coach O, but not sure why.

OTOH, it worked out pretty well for Jimbo Fisher.
