I had received orders to go to Fort Jackson (Columbia, SC) and get a job that didn't require me to deploy and work somewhat normal hours. My brigade is deploying again in a few months, so they tried to get my orders deleted and take me with them. Well, after a huge tug of war game between the big army and my Brigade, big army won and I'm moving on the "Relaxin Jackson"! After multiple deployments to 4 different wars, my fighting days are over!

You going to be there in time for our game against the lame chickens?

We spent 10 of our 22 years of army life at Ft Jackson. Of course it's changed a lot over the years, but some things are still the same. I think you'll like it. Hot as hades though.....

I do like Columbia. Went to Ft. Jackson for recruiting school. Was a civilian Army recruiter even though I am retired Air force. I thought Ft. Jackson was nice for an Army base. I am kinda spoiled , being used to Air Force bases. But Columbia is a great town. But like tnflower said, hot as heck.

My respect for you! After all that time served overseas, you DESERVE to be stationed on U.S. soil. BG
