Thanks for the interest, and thanks for those of you who choose to listen.

Thanks HTK. I will dial in tonight for at least a bit.

Johnson University aka Johnson Bible College is near where my folks live.  We actually lived on campus for a year or so when we first moved to Tennessee way back in 1982.

I used to ride to Doyle in the morning with some Johnson Bible College boys my sophomore and junior years.  Sophomore year was in a 1974 Ford Maverick, puke green with one blue fender, driven by a fellow named Tim who drove like a bat out of hell down all those windy back roads.  He had an old 8-track tape player in the car with three tapes...Van Halen I, Van Halen II and Foreigner Records.  He mostly played VH1 (which to this day I know word for word, lol) followed by Foreigner (which I got to know pretty well also).  For whatver reason he never played VH II much (IMO it sucked compared to VH1, so I assume he felt likewise).  There were always three of us in the car and as the youngest I was relegated to the back seat with my head 10 inches from the speakers, which were always cranked to max volume.

First part of junior year I rode with a guy named Wilbur in his dad's station wagon, which was some type of Chevy.  Wilbur also played very loud music (103.5 WIMZ, which was 104 in those days and also "Hits 100", which is tragically now a country station), but he drove even faster than Tim.  Wilbur used to rocket down Tipton Station road at speeds between 70 and 80, I shizzle you not.

And you wonder why I drive the way I do?  LOL!  I learned to drive from a bunch of East Tennessee hillbillies.

Near the end of my junior year my parents started letting me drive and my father happened to own a 73 Dodge Charger, so I was also burning up those roads.  And the entire time, there was never a cop in sight.  I think maybe once in my entire 3 years at Doyle did I see a cop in the morning on the way to school.  Quite a culture shock when I started working on a military base later in the 80s.

Ah, those were good times in high school.
