Never really felt like we were threatened, but clearly there's a lot we can improve on. Drew Richmond, were you watching? You could start for us right now. ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Ugly? I don't know I'd go that far, but it was a lackluster game for sure! It didn't look as if the lines performed well on either side of the ball and against this team they should have done better. This game doesn't fuel my enthusiasm for next week at all. I'm not gonna say hope is "out the window", but it's beating on the galss! G ![](https://volstothewall.com/board/Smileys/default/powert.gif)

I hope this was a lesson for all the UT fans who suddenly started predicting an 8-4 (even 9-3) season after last week. We have much work to do. The offense looked very good at times today, as did the defense. At other times, they both looked very questionable. The inability of the offensive line to run-block effectively is definitely a huge concern. We can't use the "NFL talent in the front 7" excuse this week. The inability of the defense to play containment was also a concern at times...though, in their defense, we may not face a QB that mobile again this season. Special teams play is pretty terrible right now. As far as coaching, UT was completely unprepared for both the fake punt and the onside kick attempt. Not being ready for the fake punt isn't as troubling. Given the situation, being caught pants-down on an onside attempt is definitely concerning.

fake punts? The first time they were going to they were ready The 2nd time was a late call by the AS sideline, based on what our backside contain was doing.

My prediction has not changed...still think 5 7 mist likely l, unfortunately.
However the odds of exceeding that have improved IMO.
On balance the arky st game went about like many thought Utah state would. The difference is thaT Utah state lost so much from last year they are actually much worse than ark st imo.

You saying we go 5-7? fizzle that. We lose to sooners, ol bumma, jawga. Otherwise all are winnable, we won't win them all but I don't see 5-7.

Ask me again after next week, or better after the first weekend in October. It's very possible if not likely.

I'm not read to give up against the puppies, though Gurley scares me. Their QB does not

Agree. We gave them a scare last year, though it was in Neyland. I do think they belong in the first group though.

Today was disappointing, but it didn't really chance my hope for 7-5. After last week I thought "hmm, we're better than I thought we'd be". We had a let down today but I still know what we're capable of. In the first half today Worley put every pass exactly where it ought to be. Defense (secondary, particularly) is better than I thought it'd be, too. I just don't like our running scheme, the way our O line is expected to block in a "standing up" stance. Every running play is virtually a draw play and I just don't like it.
