OMO the information from Brent and crew is to knotch, better than say 247.  The board is a garbage pit.  I remain a member because of Brent and crew's information.  Sometimes they are scooped but they tend to research and provide more complete coverage.

I think the 247 Team VIP room is better than the War Room but recruiting coverage is far better on Brent's site IMO.

I think the info on RTI is just as good if not better than the paysites.  All it lacks is the big national recruiting database (although they do cover UT recruits and targets pretty well) and an active message board.  The latter may yet come, but as it's still a new and relatively unknown site, their boards are still pretty slow.

I think it's worth $10 a month. The mods there are very good in terms of the info they provide, and in general, are careful about rumors.

I will say this, since twitter has gotten more and more popular, I have noticed that I can get most of the info on twitter before I get it from them.

The message board is entertaining, and has some characters.

I'm a subscriber and I log in MAYBE once a month, at best. I remain a subscriber because I'm a fan of Brent Hubbs...a hard worker who built himself from the ground up, and just a genuinely good guy. But, honestly, as has already been pointed out, you can get most of the same information on RTI (free) and Twitter. At some point, once RTI has built a strong following, they'll have to move to a paywall, at least if it's going to be a primary source of income for those guys. But for now it's free and the info is better than you'll find on any other free site on the internet.

In some ways, with the popularity of Twitter, it seems like the niche for sites like VQ is slowly fading. OTOH, it's hard to get that info on Twitter if you don't know exactly who to follow, and Twitter's popularity seems to be waning a bit...I wonder if it isn't a fad that's on its way out.

I'll say this: There is no better single source of inside information on UT athletics on the internet than the War Room on VQ. You can get most of the same info elsewhere, but you can't get all of it. Those guys bust their butts and do their homework.

I was once a subscriber and I like Brent a lot both personally and professionally.  Before social media became so prominent it was one of the few places that one could get accurate info.

That said, what is available on Volquest, InsideTennessee, and 247 is now available pretty much at the same time on non subscriber social media sites.

I won't say don't subscribe, but I really can't think of a good reason to subscribe, either.

While info is soon avaliable elswhere, I couldn't imagine not being a member of a premium pay site. I subscribe to two: Rivals and 247. I'm one of the regular posters on the Tide's Rivals site, but really like 247's bells and whistles. There I can even go to others boards war rooms free of charge and get pertinent info as needed.

Why subscribe to those overpriced Bammer sites when you can get the same thing just as quickly from my friend Baron Huber and his broadcast partner Martin Houston on FM 99.1 in Tuscaloosa?

I get so much more info from the premium sites. No only info but details as well; I want the entire story. To give an example of the advantages 247's site has over others, if the Tide's rival site mentioned something about Southern Cal, since 247's membership allows members to view other school's boards at no additional cost, I can go directly to the USC board on 247 for more info. There I can read their boards, and war rooms as well.

I'm not as patient about my school's news as some here. I want it now, and I can even get breaking news on my phone with their apps.

I see. If a poster makes solid points and seems a little ahead of the curve yet doesn't post regularly on issues, I shouldn't ask for their increased participation as I will only be brown-nosing if I do. I recall one issue he made relevant comments on while some others didn't demonstrate that same capability. He impressed me with his insight but I'll be careful not to mention it again. As I've said before, there are both good posters and discussions here, but in my opinion not enough participation. What a shame I asked for that participation.

I think it's the appropriate time to mention Pirate is one of the greatest posters ever. He's also the best human in the world, and we all owe him our gratitude for his excistence. He is a man of his word, and would never, ever shame another poor soul no matter how sorry they actually are.

Edited to add: Stogie, now add brown nosing pic.
