I never expected UT would make the NIT. A 0.500 team with a losing conference record really has no expectations.

Last .500 team to get into the NIT was North Carolina 4 years ago. There are some teams in the NIT this year with 26-27 wins. The mid-major conferences that only get 1 automatic bid to the dance are getting automatic bids and high seeds in the NIT now.
