Jim Bob, not the Luke, Bo, and Daisy's friend.

He's the new offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions.

wow.  Congrats to Jim Bob!

Then again, it's the Lions.  Barry Sanders retired early because the Ford family treats it like a tax write off and could give a flip if they win.  The Lions had some good teams in the 50s with Bobby Layne at QB, but they have not sniffed an NFL or NFC championship since.  Well, okay, they made the NFC championship one time with Sanders and got blown out by Washington in 1991, also the year of their only playoff victory since their last NFL championship in 1958.

Of the current roster of NFL teams, the Lions are one of only four NFL teams to never make it to the Super Bowl.  The others are Jacksonville, Houston, and the new Cleveland Browns, all of whom have the excuse of being relatively new franchises.

So I wish him luck, but Detroit is about the hardest place to win in the league other than maybe Jacksonville. Just don't think the owners care, unfortunately.

and then there's this...

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2014/02/07/report-lions-hiring-jim-bob-cooter-as-qb-coach-despite-arrests/

I kinda remember the "burglary" story and I remember him being on the sideline with Peyton and the Colts.
