do we have a decent shot at getting Trey Smith? I've viewed a few HS videos of him and I would love to have him. Thoughts?

All signs seem to point towards UT...which probably means he'll wind up at Clemson.

(I'm not Herb and I'm not a recruiting guru...in fact, I'm probably closer to being Herb than to being a recruiting guru.)

Don't consider myself a guru but I do follow it pretty well, especially the instate kids.

So, to answer your question - Yes, UT has a decent shot and has made up some ground as of late.  It didn't hurt that his sister has been hired to work in the UTAD recently.

Robbie Caldwell and Dan Brooks are still on him hard for the Rat Bastards, and Dan has had a lot of success in Tennessee during this cycle.  They are still the school to beat, coming from those I trust.  But don't count out Bama.

That said, I like our chances much better now than I did the first of the summer.

Well, you both seem to follow a similar line of work ...

Philly, I know that you are really close to this one.

My guys tell me that UT and Kliempsein are out in front right now and are pretty much even.

And still in the mix, but a little behind those two are Bama and Notre Dame.

Is that close to what you are hearing?

I see and talk to Trey's Dad several times a week.....He knows where I stand and we don't discuss Trey's recruitment much except he tells me about their visits to schools across the country and how their trips to Knoxville have gone. They are pretty close to the vest as far as who Trey's leader is. Trey's sister being in the program now is huge, IMO. They were in Knoxville weekend before last getting her settled and spent A LOT of time with Butch. It went very, very well.

IMO.....I would put Bama a head of Clemson....and right now I get the vibe UT a head of them all. Never know though.

Creek, I don't know why you would even claim to be close to Herb.
