Lately, he mid-majors have the same amount of money the big colleges had a decade ago and are very competitive. VERY competitive. Just take a look at the upsets that have happened already this year (Oklahoma & FSU, ect). On top of the money, there's just a LOT more great players that are available to be recruited. The population of the US has increased at a far faster pace than colleges with football programs.
