This is a quote from an Alabama fan in a recent conversation about Tennessee.  Not many will admit it but I believe that most Alabama fans do have a good deal of respect for Tennessee and more so than they do for Auburn.  This fan also said that it is time for Tennessee to quit acting like Vandy and getting back to being Tennessee, implying that Tennessee needs to bite the bullet and hire a top coach.  I've been saying this for years (and years).

Here's hoping it will be different with the next hire.  There's murmers and whispers of TN preparing to do things much differently with the next hire but of course you can't help but take the stance if "I'll believe it when I see it".

I think we tried in 2012 but Jones was the best we could do, apparently.  Hope it goes better this time.

In the end I am DAMN glad that DHART swung and missed on C Strong.  Think where we would be now.  People think Jones is a terrible coach but Strong proved at UT (not UTJR AKA TEXAS) that no matter how good a coach is at one location he can be HORRID at the next.

Just have to be willing to pay a big time coach salary.  It would be a good investment.

Like Emeril said, you can do that and miss.  Strong at Texas, Muschump at Florida, Sarkisian at SoCal, etc
