Not because of any reason espoused here or other boards but because if JG did have a concussion there is a better than even chance he won't be cleared to play Saturday

In any case, if it was a concussion and he is eventually cleared, then Bailey should get the 1st team snaps in practice this week, which is a good thing in my view

BTW, go back and look at the change in the Hawg defense that our $1.7M OC didn't see or counter

Also, go back and look at our offensive formations when JG went out.
We lined up in pure 2 TE sets with no indication we were going to pass.  So, the Hawgs stacked the box with no real concern with being thrown over the top.
In other words, our $1.7M OC telegraphed what we were going to do and demonstrated ZERO (0) confidence in our B/U QBs, which is an INDICTMENT of he and the QB coach - who IMO should be FIRED in Fayetteville

To summarize:  1st and 2nd down we are in pure running formations with ZERO (0) intent to pass.  Then on 3rd and med to long we have to pass.  Really setting up the B/U QBs to succeed - NOT!

Also, there is something not right between Pruitt and the team.

Only if Gitmo has a concussion and can't practice at all this week.

Otherwise, it's business as usual.

And I actually heard Tim Irwin this morning say that the team plays hard for Gitmo.  Not sure what team he is talking about.  Must mean the opposition.

The offensive game plan to start the game was pretty much conceding....This has the smell of Fulmer's offense of the 90's.

Ark was not going to let us keep running the ball...they adjusted and our coaches were clueless. I thought for the most part JG played pretty well. They just let him hand off the 1st half...hell, he was 5-8 for 47 yards the first damn half....Conceding!!! He ran the ball well for the most part and should have been doing much more of it his whole career.

Why is it QB's on other teams take hits after hits and ours get concussions? The one that JG got concussed didn't look that bad.

I'm not the most astute observer of the game, but I despise our run game. Zero creativity.

It had to do with how he hit the ground in this case.

Hope you're right!  Not to be insensitive about JG's health though, I hope he is okay and fully recovered but would love to see Bailey in there this coming Saturday.

Mauer didn't do much, it looks to me like Bailey or nothing.

It's hand off left...hand off right between the tackles....No counters....No draws....no stretch plays....no toss sweeps. We are the easiest team to defend that I've seen in many years on any level of football.

In spite of which Gray averaged 4+ yards per carry in the first half.  Was that just talent overcoming bad play calling?  We did run to the outside more than once also.

Well...well what a novel idea that a team comes out and has some early success catching a team off guard.....Coaching comes in when the other team adjusts to it and you don't have the ability to counter it. It's called coaching and we have none of it.

look at the 3rd quarter again
We went to the strong side just about every time when JG was still in the game
Hawks loaded up on the strong side and stuffed us
Add in a TE who couldn’t block his shadow (other than the one TD) and you have the disaster we saw
With 18 and 15 in the game we mostly lined up in a double wing with a single WR and ran between the tackles
In other words the coaching staff gave up

Like I have said. They were supposedly good coaches when they were hired. Why do they suddenly forget how to coach when they get to Knoxville. No excuses. There are many  teams with a lot less talent that would beat us. Hell Memphis would probably beat us. That is coaching.

Exactly.  But that's hardly conceding at the kickoff, don't know where you got that idea.

Agree completely that we needed to adjust and did not.  It seems simple.  "Let's try to run, but even if successful, we will need a Plan B in case they adjust".  Not terribly complicated.
