can't throw worth a shizzle.  I have noticed this in earlier games, we are vulnerable to the steal because he cant place the throw very well and it isn't the fastest throw either.  Today he made an actual error, completely missing the second baseman and giving up a two base steal.  I think opposing teams are aggressive about stealing for this reason.

I am definitely not an expert on baseball, but I feel pretty confident that our catcher is not that great at stopping steals.

I am sure there are other attributes of a catcher...simple ability to not let the ball get away from him behind the plate and/or run down pop ups behind the plate, likely his ability to call pitches, and of course batting ability, but throwing out a person trying to steal has to be on the list somewhere. Hope our guy can get better at it if he's coming back next year.

Pav hurt his throwing hand a few weeks back. Missed 2-3 weeks. When he came back his throws got pretty wild. Opponents have taken note and are running on him every chance they get.

Ah okay, that explains it.  Otherwise it was a glaring weakness and one would wonder how Vittello could miss it.  Does make me wonder about his backup though.
