A bit mercice

Just landed and saw the score. It seems acceptable.

Surprised Evans had 15 touches AND such a low YPC.

Bailey with field position
Turn him lose

BRW he got a nice ovation when he came on the field and the players were pumping him up as well

I'll take it. Any day the backup kicker gets reps for fun is good.

I only saw about a quarter, had stuff to do today.  Normally I just watch the rest off the DVR, but had no way to record this one.

What little I saw there were some sloppy plays...muffed handoff from Hooker to Evans, low snap, even a long pass given up near the end of the game.

It went about as expected but those sloppy plays show we still need to clean it up a bit.

For now it looks like Hooker will get us through this season while Milton and Bailey compete for the future, but it's early.  The Florida game may change all that.  But if it plays out that way for the whole season, at this moment in time I would be okay with it just going by what I've seen so far.

These cupcake games suck. They don't really tell you what your team has and gets folks hurt in a throwaway game.

These cupcake games are awesome.  They are a great way to get better practice reps in and the best way to evaluate personnel.  It's the best way for this kind of team (thin on talent and confidence) to get ready for the big boys.  Pitt was a decent test and they fit somewhere in the middle/lower middle of our conference.

But the guys he was playing with are still better than what TTU put out there, and Bailey still showed why he isn't going to play in this offensive scheme.  He just doesn't move well enough, and that's why he is #3.

The fact that he didn't get in a game like this until there was less than a minute to go in the third quarter says that the coaches have no plans for him to play a meaningful snap at UT unless it's in a dire emergency.  No slight against the kid, but if he wants to play he really needs to start looking for a new home.

I think you are right on target.  He did not seem to move well in the pocket at all.  But he did throw some good passes.  Too bad we can't trade him in this brave new world of CFB.
