What would Milton and JG have commanded in NIL prior to taking a snap? This is not disparage either young man's play. Throw in Brian Darden if you're old enough.

Who is Milton?

I think JG would have done okay, but nothing special

I'm just pondering how the initial figures for a projected starting QB compare given numbers bandied about for Nico (kid from CA).

Yes, I figured. Nico is rated way higher than JG was though.

The nil money will dry up with the first terrible head coach hire. We have got to make smarter moves in the future than we have in recent memory.

Good point. Hopefully Heupel can continue to give the money folks reason to be optimistic.

My guess is Auburn has funding issues at present.

Agree.  The run after Fulmer to present was .... how do I put it.  If someone had TRIED to do as bad as they could, I'm not sure they could have.  Kiffin was the only decent coach of the batch but in 2009 he was still green and would probably have gotten us on probation or otherwise flamed out anyway, IMO.

Heupel does appear to be better than them all, and I mean the 2009 version of Kiffin not the current one.

But I have been burned way too much to say that with a great deal of confidence. Let's see what happens this season.
