All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

I’m not at all surprised he was fired. I am surprised that they didn’t wait a few more weeks.

I worked with an Iowa fan some last year, and he had a couple of theories.

1) Iowa State, Kansas State, Mizzou, and to some extent Kansas can each pull five+ recruits annually who would have gone to Nebraska. Wisconsin may pull even more. Combined, that's an entire class.

2) The days of admitting any and everyone are gone.

The right coach can win anywhere, but there aren't many of those. Jimmy Johnson was just o.k. at Oklahoma State. Ditto for Saban at Michigan State.

Yep!  And he was only good, not great, at LSU (yes I know he won a natty but the next year they dropped off considerably).

People forget that.  If not for the absolute machine that bammer recruiting has been for the last 15 years, he wouldn't be the arrogant little shizzle he is, but I think with NIL that may be ending finally, or at least letting up a bit, which may be all it takes.
