Outstanding. He deserves it. Long overdue. One of my favorite Vols.

LONG overdue. Should’ve happened before Admiral and ZZ ever had the chance to wear #5. Because one of them is already a borderline candidate for the rafters, and I believe the other can reach that level.

I would agree with Admiral simply because he was and remains such an advocate for the university. But no way I'd put Zeigler in that category. Love the way he plays, just don't think he's THAT level of importance to the program.

At his size, he’s unlikely to get drafted. Barring something unforeseen, he’s going to be in Knoxville for another 3 years. I think he can be our best PG ever and a Naismith candidate by then (especially if he improves his perimeter shooting.). And his story, personality, and likability are just cherries on top. I think he’ll be a national household name, maybe as soon as this season.

So I guess they’re retiring his “jersey” and not his number? LOL, whatever.

Since #5 has already been worn by so many great Vols, maybe we should just keep it active and reserve it for one special player every year. Like Syracuse football used to do with #44.
