...most of us looked at the schedule and spotted 5 likely wins, 2 likely losses, and 5 tossup games.

We've now won the first two of those tossups. Another (USC) doesn't really look like a tossup anymore, and can probably be moved into the "likely win" column.

So is 8-4 now our worst case scenario?

I think UK is a little better than a toss-up also. I wouldn't rank our chances of beating the Cats as high as beating the Cocks, but definitely higher than when the season started. Their offense doesn't impress me and our offense is good enough to put up some points on their defense.

Coming into today, I thought Georgia was the one SEC team that looked untouchable. I suspect that their struggles with Kent State aren't really indicative of what they're going to look like in any conference game, and I also don't think we can beat Alabama. But I'm daring to dream of 10-2 at this point. LSU is huge. Not sure we can beat them on the road; that's a tough place to go play. But I can't wait to see how it plays out.

I consider 7-5 the floor, 8-4 a good chance and 9-3 possible

Absolutely...Junior was only ahead 4 at halftime on Charlotte today....not sure how that turned out, but I have definintely moved them into the "likely win" column

In short, 10-2 is the ceiling and 8-4 the floor, are my expectations

With UGA and Bama being sure losses and LSU and Kentucky being toss-ups, our range is 8-4 to 10-2.

At this point 8-4 would be disappointing even though at the first of the season it was seen as acceptable. Now, 9-3 is the "acceptable" record.

But look at today. Anything is possible. Good or bad.

I appreciate your optimism.

But we will need to tighten up greatly on defense.

By the way, I meant to post this for you. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2022/09/21/heres-what-it-took-move-broken-down-us-special-ops-aircraft-stuck-arctic-nature-preserve.html

I remember talking heads suggesting going 4-0 in September and I just thought to myself "that'd be nice, but...I'll believe it when I see it"

I thought 3-1.

Thrilled,  obviously.   Nothing like going into a bye week undefeated.   It'll be interesting to see what time kickoff is for LSU.

Yeah I think 8-4 is worst case. I think we are going 10-2. We will beat UK at home
