Clearly, Gibbs is the best RB we have played this year, so I wasn't too disappointed in our run defense, but as the game was playing out it just seemed like he was having quite a bit of success against our defensive front. If you had told me before I glanced at the end-of-game stats that Tennessee was averaging more YPC than Alabama, and that Jaylen Wright was averaging more YPC than Gibbs, there's no way I would've believed you.

Yet, it was true. Gibbs averaged only 4.3 YPC tonight, well below his average of late. Wright averaged 5.9 YPC.

We almost had Gibbs, too. He was down to bammer and us. He'd sure be a beast in this offense.

Just a note....Our OL is a bunch of unsung hero's this season. They get lost in this high powered/fast paced offense. Great job!!!

OL was fantastic tonight. ZERO qb pressures by Bama.

I am in Knoxville this week and have been listening to local talk radio all week.  There was a discussion of the OL on like Wednesday, and they mentioned that Hooker has had plenty of time to throw all week, and you are right, till I heard that I wasn't thinking about them much.  They have a great deal to do with our success actually.

I don’t quite understand how our players were getting juked so easily. It never seemed like Gibbs would fake one way and go the other, so I don't understand why we were losing our jocks all night long. I thought about it a little more and I guess it’s because Gibbs could change directions seamlessly. He would freaking turn on the dime. At one moment he’s going one way and the next instant he’s going a totally different direction. I don’t think I have seen that all too often.

Based on what I've read....he grew up a UT fan and wanted to come to Knoxville and The Gump pretty much said no? Then when he was transferring Heupel was recruiting him and it was down to Bama and us and Bama won out? Dang shame...

Yeah

Sounds about right for The Gump. Wonder what he's even doing now, all the Giants staff was let go last season
