But still completely inevitable. Don't forget that Auburn boosters were trying to sink this ship during the offseason.

They effectively sabotaged Harsin. The national media still crows about Schiano Sunday, but at least our fan base wasn't undermining an active coach. The Auburn coup was far, far worse. I'm not sure why any coach would want to step into that cluster.

It would behoove ADs to have buyouts run through three years, and then essentially go away. That might have mitigated the damage for AU.

Based on what I saw Auburn is on the hook for close to 44 million in just buyouts of this and former staff....Not including hiring a new coach and staff...

Names being mentioned are Kiffin....Mullen...Matt Ruhl.

I heard they have paid out $50 million over the last ten years. I don't know if that includes Harsin or not.

I know. I have been following it.  Regardless, 1.5 years in is pretty ridiculous when viewed from 10,000 feet.

They tried to get him on cause last year but failed.  However after they launched the investigation it was only a matter of time.

Yes, but some strange things did go down last year.  He fired a WR coach unexpectedly in midseason which caused a lot of grief, and for some reason Bo Nix, the son of a legendary QB at Auburn, transferred.  That would be like if Shuler's son was good enough to start for us but transferred.  And Nix is tearing it up at Oregon, which has to stick in the gall of Auburn fans (payback for Bruce though!  Hellya!)

So he has contributed to the situation for sure, but...Auburn's handling of it?  Just dam!
