in the On3.com final rankings of this year’s prospects. Arch Manning finished #3, also behind Bama edge rusher Keon Keeley.

UT finished #11 in their team rankings, one spot behind UF. 🤔

As an old fogie I find rankings interesting, but only as a matter of curiosity. If Nico is #1, #101, or #1001 he's still the same player.

Our last couple of overall #1’s didn’t live up the the hype. Let’s hope Nico does.

I agree with you both. I just thought that it was interesting, especially considering that Manning feel to number 3 in the rankings.

Totally agree JeffCo. It will be interesting to follow Manning's career.

Nico is ranked #1 by On3, #2 by both Rivals and 247, and #32 by ESPN. 😳

The thing is, it affects the composite rankings. In the end, rankings mean nada - it’s all about how the kids perform at the next level but it drops him big time in the composite ranking. That’s a head scratcher.

ESPN still has Charles Woodson #1

Bet your azz that if Nico signed with Bama...UGA...OSU he'd be ranked in the ESPN Top 5.

ESPN rankings always put UT much lower than Rivals and Scout ((or whatever they are both called now).   It's BS IMO, so I just don't pay much attention to ESPN rankings.

I agree that they are not the end all and be all of talent.  Good players are often missed, highly rated players can bust, but at the end of the day, they ARE an indicator and do matter.  You just have to take them as only one indicator and not THE indicator.
