$9M/year through January 2029. That puts him 5th in the SEC behind Saban,Smart, Kelly, and Fisher.

$9illion per year   Happy for him! Happy for UT, but I don't see how the upward salary spiral for coaches continues. Could be wrong. I'm not opposed to it at all. Totally out of my realm of expertise.

At least he’s now slotted about right in the SEC. I’d argue he should make more than Jimbo, but he did luck into a NC at FSU (thanks Jameis), so he currently has the more accomplished resume. When you consider that CJH made less than Stoops, Napier, Harsin, and Drinkwicz among others last year, I’d say we got our money’s worth.

This is the first time I've applauded a raise.

I'll tell you who is REALLY happy... Heupel's ol lady!
I remember reading that she doesn't like the spotlight as a coaches wife, but I'll bet she knows she married well at this point.

In the current market, CJH has earned this. I hope that the trend continues and he brings the program back to a sustained national prominence. For the first time in a long time, I have hope that the football program is on the way back to where it is supposed to be.

Having said that, and understanding that it is the price of doing business in major college football today, imo there is something wrong in a society when a football coach makes more in 4 to 6 months than most police officers, nurses, paramedics, teachers, or fire fighters make in a 30-year career. I think there's something really sad and disturbing in that fact.

This is in no way an attack on CJH.

The key thing for me is that the assistance are also getting a bump up
Unknown how much of a bump but all their contracts are being adjusted as we speak
Our coordinators are on the lower end of the SEC scale for example (yeah the OC is a first timer so I expect his to be lower)

I thought Banks was up there around 1.3 million? Seems pretty good for a first time DC with a not so good defense.
