This is the last year of SEC on CBS. Here is how it happened.

What happens to the SEC on CBS theme music?  I guess it will be shelved for eternity.

According to the article the network is using its same theme music for Big Ten games, seven of which it will air this season. I bet they just keep it and maybe gussy it up some.

So, 'SEC on CBS' ends this week? I thought that it ran through the end of the season this year.

I think it runs through the end of the season. I guess the SEC Championship Game will be the last game.

Thanks. I went back and reread the article. I misinterpreted (surprise, surprise).

CBS is going to pay $300M annually to the Big10 and not always get the pick of that week?s games while some insiders think that the SEC would have stayed with CBS for that amount. 🤔 That seems incredibly strange to me.

I think that the last hangup was that CBS wouldn't give in to the SEC on the scheduling of games. CBS wanted to put a hold on games and not finalize the time until late in the week. That's a pain for fans and for the teams. Under the ABC/ESPN contract, "Kickoff times for more than half of the league?s games will be announced before the season and those that are flexed will only move one slot (morning to afternoon or afternoon to evening)."

That's a better deal. Also, now all SEC games will be under one network. (Even though it's really two.     )

It will interesting to see which games get the higher ratings.

It's the end of an era.  While I won't miss Danielson, there is something about that intro music.  You knew it was THE game of the weekend.
