12 teams. The 5 highest ranked conference champions (which will by definition include a mid-major), and the 7 highest ranked remaining teams at-large. Now most years, those 7 teams SHOULD include 1-3 out of the Big 10, and the SEC gets the rest. But will politics come into play? Will they try to impose an artificial conference quota and throw an extra ACC and/or Big 12 team in there?

When I look at the SEC for next season, I see at least 6 teams capable of making the field. Maybe more depending on how LSU and OU reload. If they all play up to expectations, will they make it? Or will 1-2 of them get snubbed in favor of a middling Clemson or Texas Tech team (for example)? You know, out of "fairness".

What you are saying is that if ANY team will get screwed over, it would be us.

That IS the implication here, yes.

We've got to get things cleaned up in our house to be in the playoffs discussion. Discipline is a start and that goes for the HC....We've got to start beating the good teams more than once in a blue moon...beat a Florida team before they get it right and hire a good coach....Find a OL that can dominate....receiver who can catch...Sampson is great with the ball in his hands but needs work on his pass blocking ...Defense looks good at times and awful at times....Need linebackers and hope the new DBs and ones coming in get the job done...It was good to see us play quite a bit of man coverage yesterday but we were playing a awful passing team with a QB on Gitmo's level...

We got some talent...and hope Heupel uses the young one to build with...There should be no reason that UT isn't in the playoffs at least 50 percent of the time going forward.

I would hate to have to pick one to be my starter.
