Anyone remember the hobnail boot game? After we scored to go ahead, my friends were telling me "good game" and "it's over". Remember how that ended?

It's not over until it's over. I don't know how this game is going to end but we have left OK in this game.

If they score a TD here, then what?

I hope that we didn't start clock watching too early.

Sheesh. I need to open another bottle of wine.

We won. And I'm glad. But I was really surprised that we went so conservative midway through the third quarter.

I realize that Heupel didn't want Iamaleava to fumble again while being sacked.

But it made a game totally under our control into a contested game.

A win is a win. I'll take it.

Yea, a win at OK is a big win. It certainly sets us up for bigger things.

There towards the end I had visions of our FL win 2 years ago. We should have won by 20 but let them hang around and they had the ball in the end to win it.

Yep, I've been around long enough to know that anything can happen.

As long as it is possible for a team to win or tie it, I'm nervous.

Thank goodness our defense closed it out.

Which, quite frankly, sounds a little strange to say.

It's good to win a game like last night...In years past we don't win that game. The old saying...we will just outscore them doesn't work much against the elite teams.

Last night was an old fashion 3 yards and a cloud of SAND game
Leaning heavily on a defense unlike most we've see the last 10+ years
With the injured OTs Heup went old school

We absolutely let them hang around too long. Never quite had a kill shot. Refs did help em out a bit tho.

That conservative play calling really goes against Heupel's nature. You either trust or QB or you don't. In this game it was probably the right call. But I still feel he should turn the offense loose. Nico is getting paid to do his thing for four quarters.

With the B/U OTs in the game that would have been foolhardy!
The defense had control of the game
The goal was to shorten the game, and they did
They took a couple of late shots
The one offensive holding was pure BS (classic OL block)
and Squiurrel dropped one

Bottom line it is called MATURITY
