I know that the offensive line was having trouble and that we have an inexperienced quarterback. But I think Heupel has gone too conservative.

Those runs up the middle ain't cutting it. And I think that it's going to cost us.

To get beat by a FG is a dadgum insult.

Make that a TD. Did we let him score?

Don't like letting the clock go to the 2 minute timeout.

They're going to score. The question is how much time we'll have.

1:13 or so with 2 timeouts

I think so, but they should have out of the 2 minute timeout.

Yes and it was best option

Yep. He had to at least throw it away with time remaining, but he didn't. You have to throw it. Even if it's a hopeless throw, you have to throw it.

Also, burning a TO to set up that glorious play meant it had to be the last one

Great. Another shizzle the bed game from a Heupel team. Three years in a row. Scar, UF and now Arky. You gotta beat the teams you are supposed to beat.

We have , I  think, one above average player on offense. Nico. And we won?t let him play. Maybe he can?t . But we ar managing him like we don?t believe he can.

Needed to field that last punt instead of letting it roll 20 yards.

Defense on that last drive should have loaded the box and made the back-up QB throw versus them gashing us with the run as they did.

I'm unclear how much Nico is trusted. He's terrific off-schedule, and throws catchable balls, but hasn't done well reading the box.

Hopefully this comes in time. The OL hasn't been great, but his internal clock is suboptimal at present. I'm also unclear how much separation receivers are getting.

There's a reason we're a run-heavy team.

I screamed about that. We could have gotten a FG, or at least flipped the field.

I rarely ID players (specifically avoided it early in the game) but A Carter had a very bad night
Over perused, had very bad eye discipline and was lost most of the night in coverage (had a nice PBU late)
He?ll improve, biggest game he has played to date, missing time due to the injury last year didn?t help

We rotated a lot on defense tonight
At least 4 LBs, 3 consistently Not a good night for the LB crew
At safety we rotated 4 a lot
Corner not as much but there was some rotation

Not fielding their last punt was huge

Our returner makes that decision way too much, IMO.  It's better than fumbling, but if he isn't that confident, find someone that is.

Whoaaaa....let's pump the brakes. We have at least two OL (likely more) and as many as 4 WRs who will play on Sunday, and though I have not checked any mock drafts, I am pretty sure Dylan Simpson has a great chance to be drafted.

"one above average player on offense"??? I want some of what you are smoking!

Then we should look a lot better on offense then, wouldn't you say?

100%.  I was at the OU game live with a buddy, and in the past, he was down on Butch Jones way before I was.  This was a role reversal!  When we went into a shell against OU I said "I don't like this".  He said "it doesn't matter, this was over at the half".

Well...OU almost pulled within 8 with around 4 minutes or so left in the game.  We are fortunate they did not convert the two pointer and that our D held on thier last drive.  My buddy was all like "this was really more like 42 to 10 but we took the foot off the gas".  I'm like "but it WASNT 42 10, and we should not have taken our foot off the gas".

It seems the shell mentality carried over to this latest game, unfortunately.

We have the talent. We will either break out of the shell. Or not.  Dial in this Saturday!

He is a freshman in a high pressure situation, but he initially looks left and when he comes off of that look practically all of the defenders follow his eyes to the middle of the field and begin moving in that direction. Look at Matthews on the left and Sampson on the right - both of those receivers were open. Maybe, just maybe, the offense is limited for a reason.

See my comments above about staring down the field for too long. Over and over again.  Very frustrating to watch.

He needs to hit the film room hard and work on some things, for sure.
