Go look at Heupel's 4 years here and you'll see several of those WTF calls.....And many of them haven't worked.
You could understand in year one trying to just win a game....Not in year 4 however.

Desperation is what it felt like. Score was 3-0! AND Bishop got the ball. Of course, that drive went nowhere.. but I still can?t believe that happened. It ran more time off the clock and led to the rushed (and failed) FG. The reward was not commensurate with the risk but it did help. And arguably won the game for us. |

Go look at Heupel's 4 years here and you'll see several of those WTF calls.....And many of them haven't worked.
You could understand in year one trying to just win a game....Not in year 4 however.
Some of them were good risks, others not. Some of the bad risks worked. The worst bad decision that did not work was bama last year in 3rd quarter. Definitely WTF. Definitely did not work. Definitely a big part of why we lost. But some made sense and worked. |

You could understand in year one trying to just win a game....Not in year 4 however.

Definitely a big part of why we lost. But some made sense and worked. In year 4 if you are going for it on your own 10 you are telling folks we are out manned and we need gimmicks to win. If your defense is so good punt and play defense. Every noticed all those outmanned OOC teams that come to Neyland and try all kinds of tricks....they do it because it's their only chance. |

In Heupels defense, it was a half yard, maybe a foot. Which I'm sure factored into the decision. Still should not havebtried it but it did work. |
