This quote stuck out to me: "Alabama?s final four offensive possessions consisted of two punts, a turnover on downs and an interception. Alabama?s final 11 offensive snaps earned three yards." That ladies and gentlemen is DEFENSE, Tennessee style Go read the whole article

https://x.com/Bill_Martin/status/1848028696117973478The Tennessee D is playing great so far. No team has put up 20 points on them this season (and they were on the field a lot in the last 3 games). If the offense can be just a little better, I believe that this team could compete with anyone. I'm not taking 2022 good, although that would be awesome - just better than we have seen the past 3 games.

Hope not, but he will have plenty of offers, I'm sure.

I'd rather have coaches everyone wants than the opposite.

Banks, like the Goelish, wants to be a HC I'm confident that he and Heup have had conversation about it. When a good opportunity arises, and the defensive performace this year will enable offers, I'm sure that Heup will support the move, much as he did with Goelish I alos 100% believe that is why Inge was hired when the opening occured He has experience as a DC His style matches Heup's background as well He is a player focused coach and Heup likes to hire analysts, QA guys and coaches, train them, evaluate them and hire from within if possible when openings occur
I also believe that Willie Martinez intended to retire last year (explains the contracts issue) but the guy they hired to evaluate for the position apparently didn't pan out, and they hired another secondary analyst this year Say what you want but Willie can develop talent See Gibson, and to a lesser extent McCoy (who has God given tallent you can't coachup Also, McMurray has improved significantly this year (he isn't 'there' yet. but his performance when Gibson and then McCoy were hurt was very good. I will say that they trusted McCoy/Gibson on Williams when McMurray was in the game but I suspect that had more to do with the lack off effective coverage by LBs, Stars and safeties on Williams (Milroe overthrew Williams when nobody was within >10 yards of him once, when I suspect that LB (I know which one but will not name him) failed to drop into his zone properly)
As an aside, I believe the two significant difference between McCoy and Gibson are: McCoy has an abioity to spot and tract the ball while covering that Gibson doesn't have, yet. Possibly due to his WR background Gibson tends to get handsy on receivers while McCpy tends to play clean They both were very physical against Williams Saturday and I think it telling that his production trailed off significantly as the game wore on
