No, that requires a conference championship
I'll be happy if we can get a 8 seed or better, than means one more home game

Getting into the SECCG would be great, although I don't think we have a chance for that.

But I just want to get into the playoffs.

After that, anything could happen.

Help me here, if we beat Vandy and A&M beats Texas, isn't it UT versus UGA?  Winner is SEC Champ?

With the SEC tie breakers uga is above us.  Either Texas or aTm will be the other team playing for the SECC
Joey Freshwater losing is what did us in

TAMU is one loss SEC no more. They have to beat Texas next week and win the SECCG to make the CFP now.

Yeah, but they and Texas are the only teams with the chance of playing uga in the SECC (aTm has a 6% chance)
We have ZERO percent chance
Check the SEC standings at SEC Sports, other than the aTm loss they are up to date

If A&M wins, isn't Texas, A&M and Tennessee all 2 loss in conf?  So GA and then highest ranked between us 3, right?  Maybe I am missing something.

Yes, I thought that we were already out.

That's fine.

Just get into the playoffs.

The tie breaker is "opposing SEC team win percentage".  In the event A&M beats Texas, there will be four two SEC loss teams and it will go to the fourth tie breaker, which is SEC opponent win percentage.  Since we played winless MSU, our SEC opponent win % is low, so we are seeded fourth in the event of a four way tie of 2 loss teams.

We are not and cannot get in the SECCG....For us to have had a chance Kentucky had to beat Texas....Didn't happen.

Myself....if we are in the playoffs in the position we are in I'd rather sit home and rest up and heal up.

Let us not forget....Botch had to beat Vandy to go to the Sugar Bowl....Vandy beat our asses and we went to the Music City Bowl. Do not sleep on Vandy.

100% My best friend from college is blowing up my texts today complaining that A&M does not deserve a chance, SEC tiebreaker suck, etc, etc ,etc.

I keep telling him "none of this matters unless we beat vandy".

And we may not.

Having said that, the way the 2016 team ended what had been a promising season was a disgrace.

That 2016 team didn't even try, per the color guy on Vol network (I did not have access to TV so just listened to that one). He was spitting mad at the lack of effort. I belive that was Tim Priest, who was typically even keeled.

So...our offense may struggle and cost us the game, but I doubt we see that same lack of effort. 🙂
