We need to hope that UGA and/or PSU lose bad enough Saturday to drop below us.

UGA loses on the road to Ole Miss as a 1.5 favorite and drops from 3 to 12
Bama loses on the road as a 10 point favorite to OK and falls from 7 to 13
Ohio St loses at HOME as a 21 point favorite to Michigan and falls 2 to 6🤦‍♂️
Was hopeful the committee would be consistent but not surprised.
Hopefully the team uses the snub for motivation

I don't think there's any chance of Tennessee hosting a first round game. The only possible opportunity would be if Texas handles UGA easily and I don't really think they'll move UGA below us because of H2H.

The Vols just have to go win!!!!

They use whatever metric they need to do whatever they want.

Logic is irrelevant.

Just win, baby!!!!!

The only way to take committees and bias out the the equation is to create eight 10-team conferences (or four 20-team conferences, each with 2 distinct divisions). Every team plays all other conference teams (in 20-team conferences you play everyone in your division). Top 2 teams in each conference play a championship game (or the 2 division winners in the 20-team scenario). Championship game winners either get the only bid from that conference or get a first round home game against a second place team from another conference. The 8 first round winners then play it off.

It will never happen but at least the title would be determined solely by on-field results.

In this scenario there is no "we should have been in" arguments. Win your conference and play for a championship or shut up. Rankings would be irrelevant. Biases would be irrelevant. Committees would be irrelevant.

Not that I want any player to be injured, but it would be interesting to see if any teams ahead of us that play next week drop more than usual if they lose their QB to injury, similar to FSU last year. Unfortunately that might be our only chance to host a game.

The committee chair stated that teams not playing would not change in ranking.  So no way we could pass OSU.

The networks control the playoffs.....the committee is just window dressing.

Just 2 games will prove who's doing the seeding.......Bama at Notre Dame and Tennessee at Ohio State. Who win there, and I'm not talking about the teams.

If that is true, then the two conf losers will have to be slotted into the SMU and Boise slots, which would also affect the overall slots.  I will wait for Sunday to see how it all shakes out

Want to know why OSU is hosting and not us...

PSU, IU, and Oregon went 34-2

Bama, UGA, and OU went 25-11
