The defensive intensity in the 2nd half wasin the extreme range

Also, they changed the defense
One key aspect wass picking up #1 way outside, especially when the bock was kicked back out.
That did two things, it slowed down the 3's #1 hit 2 contested 3s that were unbelievable shots (just got to tip your hat to him) and also, it prevented a lot of the drives that were slicing and dicing us in the 1st half
Hard to believe that we missed out fits 4 shots in the 2nd half and then wnt nuclear (8/10 at one point)
Also, both Zakai and Felex got fizzleing PISSED, especially with their punk #22

Some of Felex's screens in the 2nd half were flat full throated hockey body checks, he sent 22 and 99 both flying out of the lane
There was one drive from out left (I think Gainey) where Felex moved his guy at least 5 feet away from the baseline to give Gainey room to drive to the hoop, I mean not just pushed, he MOVED the guy
After 22 got his 4th we went right at him
First Igor drove the lane and he backed off, the 2nd time we pump faked and he came down on the shooter (BTW, thank Zakai for him fouling out, with the head shot he threw at him early in the 2nd half, was his 2nd and 3ed fouls  on one play)
99's 5th was just pure stupidity on his part, he just pushed our player several feet in front of the ref, to the point he couldn't ignore it

Agree the defense suxed in the first half but Vandy also just got hot.  It happens.  Then the reversion to norm typically happens in the 2nd half.  Rarely a team can stay hot shooting all game, but fortunately that didn't happen.  Better defense had a lot to do with it, but even in the second half vandy hit a lot of contested shorts.  I'm so glad we pulled it out!
