He was busy trying to call timeout and was yelling at the official for not giving it to him.

Even at the post-game interview he said that he still hadn't seen it.

Ref probably ignored him because he was out of the box
On the inbounds he was standing at half court and slowly walked back to the box

Their coach did something similar earlier except he was standing ping ON the court (students noticed for sure)

Barnes said his best coaching move of the games was him not telling the refs he was going to call timeout on the last play.
