He couldn't come back now, even if he wanted to. He's lost this fanbase.

At some point probably in the next week or so, his father (who has been a fount of misinformation on social media for three years now) will spin up some sob story about how UT screwed his kid over.  The Wolkens and Fordes of the world will eat it up, but don't you believe it.

Truth is, we went to the mat for Nico. Made him the highest paid player in the game at the time. Fought the NCAA in court for him, put the entire athletic department in peril. And this is how the ungrateful punk repays us.

He wasn't the answer anyway, imo. I don't think he processes quickly enough to be successful in CJH's offense. Tempo was pedestrian under him, slow even. I don't think the staff trusted him to make throws over the middle. He didn't seem to have great field presence or vision.

He's maybe a 7-on-7 All American, but I never believed he would ever be a great QB against SEC defenses.

The irony is that the national NIL floodgates were thrown wide open only after Tennessee went to court with regards to the Nico deal. 🤔

Agree with the above. His processor is simply too slow.

Funny how everyone had him as the second coming back when Milton was playing. "Put Nico in".....remember those proclamations. How quick fickle fans turn on him. What if the QB's on the roster now want to be paid as well. They will have to open the checkbook to compete with the Ohio States of the world. NIL and the transfer portal is the devil I'm telling you. Gonna have to put some caps on it. Plus the way they can transfer now, every player is a free agent every season. Gotta make them set out a year. Schools are recruiting transfers more than recruiting freshmen. Pityful. Hopefully one of the newbie QB's will excel.

So...football fans get over optimistic and have ridiculous expectations sometimes?

Thank you for that keen insight!
