....but Beck might not be making that much.

Nico's father and "advisers" really effed up this thing.

I still think that it's possible that he wanted to leave and not because of the money. And they asked for that much knowing that they wouldn't get it here. But did they ever miscalculate on how easy it would be for him to hook up with another school.

Demanding the same or more money as a guy who put up FAR better numbers, won the SEC Championship, and easily beat you head to head is a special kind of stupid. This would be like Will Levis demanding Mahomes money.

The family is now saying that it wasn't about the money but was about Heupel's offense.

Apparently, they were afraid to say so at the time because it would look bad for Nico. So they chose the money ask and it ended up looking bad for Nico.

At this point, the truth is anyone's guess.

I think the biggest problem with Tennessee's offense last season was #8.

Like the dumb asses didn't know what offense Heupel ran when he committed and packed his bags and headed to Knoxville.

Heupel's offense is designed to get guys running free in open space. Beyond that, it's on the QB to make the throw. Nico usually didn't.

I think team Nico just thought they had TN backed into a corner and we'd have no choice but to give home what he wanted.

Obviously, they miscalculated.

That is a good breakdown of the 2022 Tennessee passing offense.

HH and his receivers were reading the coverage and were on the same page. There were usually distinct options on the routes, depending on the way that the defender(s) covered the receiver but both HH and the receiver knew the reads and the options. It didn't hurt that Hyatt had great speed and that HH was accurate, but the QB and receivers were reacting to the defense.

Until it is proven to be false, I'm a believer that Nico did not have the cognitive ability to run the same offense as HH.
