that is one STRONG DL staff between Coach G, Coach Chop and now Coach Hobby, with NFL DL coaching experience
If you were a young man looking to get to the NFL why would you not want to come to the VOLS?

I remember Hobby from his play. I am wondering if he was roommates with Tracy Hayworth.  In 1987 the athletes moved into the dorms with us due to a Gibbs Hall renovation.  Tracy Hayworth was on my floor in Morrill, and was a fairly social person. His roommate did not mingle much, and may have been Hobby but I really don't remember.

True story...that was the year that the Knoxville Journal exposed the players selling their complimentary tickets (intended for family) right at the start of the season, and UT took voluntary probation and a 1 schollie loss over that (IIRC).

Come October, my roommate and I procured Alabama tickets from Mr. Hayworth.  And he spotted us as we drove past the team bus in Birmingham prior to the game (outside that shizzlehole Legion Field!) and gave me a hard time for driving a Ford Escort.

LOL!  The probation/schollie changed nothing, nothing at all.

But oh have the times changed!
