In all likelihood, my next senator is going to be a former UT coach, one way or the other (I may be moving back to GA fairly soon).

Pearl issued a statement and said he was not running for Senate.

His son got a 5 year deal???

Yeah, that was...a choice. I'll be really interested to hear the financials on that one, particularly the buyout.

Kid hasn't coached at all, anywhere, other than on his Dads bench right?

So strange.

What I recall about Steven Pearl playing for the Vols is that he flat sucked and his daddy kept putting him in.  I also recall Bruce got in arguments and was a "basketball dad" when Steven was at ... I think Bearden?  or was it Karns?  Wherever he played in HS, Bruce got in trouble a few times by being too vocal in the stands.

In short, IMO he has a huge blind spot about his son, and Steven is going to be a huge flop at Auburn.

Got a feeling Bruce will be doing some of the coaching behind the scenes..

Of course rumors have started that he's moving back to Knoxville to prep taking over for Barnes who will be retiring after this season. It's like Gruden....it never ends.

lol...that would never happen.

Hes kinda sleazy at the end of the day...he wasn't let go just for a BBQ, and his later behavior at Auburn proves it, but .... he is a helluva coach, no question.
