Seems like a coin toss, to me.

Insider on Volnation says as of 11pm last night Tony and the UT administration were trying to work through the issues.  SF Giants think they're getting him.  We think we can get him to stay.

I just swapped texts with my son's best friend who is a student.  He said he has two good friends that are players on the team and they think he is staying.

I really hope so.

Tony V has become what Kiffin is to Ole Miss...Every job that opens up their names are mentioned. Sooner or later if it keeps up you have to say buy.

Things I have read:

Vitello was upset with his the size of his fall roster. I don't know what this means.

Vitello is upset with the amount of revenue sharing Caldwell is getting compared to his. This is also disputed online.

The UT brass wants Vitello to stay but Danny White does not. I don't know why unless they have a personal dispute.

I have no idea if any of these are true.

Quite frankly, the pressure to win in college pales in comparison to a pro team.

Pretty much all this is out there like you posted....Tony was also made the highest paid coach in college baseball....He's also getting a multi million renovated stadium. Sometimes you keep asking asking and asking for too much. Also keep in mind that baseball loses money....quit a bit of it.

This is a ncaa issue

I believe there is truth to this rumour/possibly made up, at least in part with additional NIL?
We are not near the top in the SEC  in this area for baseball, if the rumours are true

IMO, that is BULLshizzle

I have no idea if any of these are true.

Regarding the Lady Vols angle...  my understanding from reading X and other boards is this..

The plan for the distribution of revenue was based on the revenue each sport generates for the TN.  Tony is taking the stance that baseball is being undervalued right now and that the SEC needs to use their leverage to go back to ESPN and get a better TV deal. He's not even complaining about how much Lady Vols Basketball is getting. He's complaining because baseball's portion of the revenue is based on outdated data that shouldn't apply to the current reality of college sports and the peerless popularity of the SEC.

That is interesting. I haven't seen this perspective before. It is, of course, a moot point now as it relates to TV but you've piqued my curiosity
