When they let MM do what he does best...run a hurry up where he doesn't have to think and let him run good things happen. When they try to make him a drop back pocket QB he's not real effective. Not different than not letting Dobbs be Dobbs.

Saw where we are around 4th or 5th in the SEC?....Fully expect to see us hoover around the top 10.

JG was never going to go to the college game......If he was ever going to coach again it was going to be the NFL.

But there are already UT fans saying if we'd ponied up with the money we could have had him like the Raiders do now.

My club here has the Champions Bermuda and they don't have to cover them unless the temps drop below freezing for so many hours....They've been covered for 2 weeks now which is more than they were covered all Winter combined last year.

UGA won't come close to running the ball like they did against OU....Fromm won't beat Bama throwing. Bama wins their 47th national championship...or will it make it 48?
4310  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Good luck tonight, basketvols. on: January 03, 2018, 04:51:00 EST
Barnes has to recruit some difference makes...types that can put the team on their backs come nutt-cutten time. We have a rag tag team that plays hard but not a difference maker down the stretch in a close game. As long as Barnes keeps bringing in 3 star blue collar type players we will lose more down to the wire games than we'll win.
4311  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Good luck tonight, basketvols. on: January 03, 2018, 04:29:15 EST
AU beat them every where there is a stat....Just a sorry a$$ effort. Got up 14 and AU punched them in the mouth and they folded like a cheap suit.

I look at this way............We've gone the past 8 years without a coach, what's one more week!
4313  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Good luck tonight, basketvols. on: January 03, 2018, 01:31:28 EST
Just make sure you're losing with ~5 minutes to go, and you should be fine.

Yep.....if the game was 35 minutes instead of 40 we'd be undefeated.
4314  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: The new stadium in Atlanta is really nice... on: January 03, 2018, 12:44:30 EST
Yep

The score of the bammer game is impressive, but as usual their D bailed them out.  The first int leading to a score was a bit of a fluke.  Bammer did take advantage by scoring off it, but it also killed a good deal of Clemson momentum.

Oh well.  The silver lining is that our future HC did shut Clemson down.  This year.  Also since there is only a week to the final game, HCJP will be in Knoxville soon enough.  A bonus of bammer losing would have been an extra week on the 'cruiting trail for him.

Believe it's still the dead period?
4315  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So long tiglets. Aight!* on: January 03, 2018, 12:41:43 EST
I was pissed at OU because they played not to lose in both OTs.  Extremely conservative on the play calling, and it cost them the game.

They missed their chance when uga had to kick a FG on the first OT.  All they had to do was let Baker be Baker, but no, they went into a shell and accepted the tie.  Worst part is that they FG kicker is shaky anyway.

^Exactly.....Lincoln Riley went full Butch Jones at the end of regulation and OT.
4316  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So long tiglets. Aight!* on: January 02, 2018, 11:04:49 EST
The only thing I dislike about Clemson is that Dabo Swinney is fleecing us of our best in-state talent. And that makes them unlikeable in my book, even though Dabo seems to be a standup guy and it's our own damn fault that we can't secure our borders.

The game that really hurt was Georgia coming back against Oklahoma. I'll be man enough to admit that even though I should be bigger than to care what some 18-year-old kid does on Twitter, seeing Cade Mays' cute little video that included mention of Tennessee makes me want to see UGA destroyed in every game they play. The longer Tennessee sucks, the more vengeful I become.

And Todd Blackledge had to tell the nation last night that those 2 Clemson players were from Tennessee. Didn't hear him say anything about the kids from Georgia, Florida etc...

Much like Boise State a few years ago where they loved playing the giant killers in bowl games UCF looked to play the same part......Auburn played like they didn't like playing in the same city and stadium they played in 3 1/2 weeks earlier in the SECCG. Yesterday UCF was better no doubt.

Our last staff position opening is for a WR coach.....just saying.

Cowboys have more issues than just Dooley....Jason Garrett is a YES man to Jerry Jones so he will be there forever.

Happy New Years!

At 63 I just drank a beer and ate a pizza on my couch with the wife. Retired from going out on NY Eve about 10 years ago. Will try to see the new year come in but I wouldn't take any bets on it.

Finebaum is the college sports version of Jerry Springer.
4322  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Dammit, the men's team let that game get away...... on: December 30, 2017, 11:51:26 EST
This is one game I blame Barnes as much as the players.....No reason to slow it down and go deep into the shot clock. Up 9 with under 5.....Good teams should punch it up to 13-14 in that position. Just dumb slowing it down there.....And for gosh sake work on your out of bounds plays.

Hope this team isn't like ones in the past that get to SEC play and decide to disappear for a while.
4323  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Looking back, Tennessee's coaches have made some really boneheaded decisions on: December 30, 2017, 07:42:32 EST
Just think of the 4 and 5 star talent Butch had on campus that wound up transferring out.
4324  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Why I don't bet on college football anymore..... on: December 30, 2017, 01:35:20 EST
Agree....I do in the regular season but not bowl season. Too many players held out for injuries and surgeries and then some players that don't play because they are entering the draft. Then you have teams with interim coaches like A&M etc. I never touch bowl games.
4325  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Kelly declares for the draft on: December 29, 2017, 10:09:52 EST
He didn't have a real good season this year and was suspended for a game for being stupid. Wish him well but IMO with all the RBs in the draft this year he'll be down the list.
