Franklin Vol, that was a PERFECT analogy.  I can't read the other boards anymore.  So gossipy and negative.  Gridscape is especially negative and the posters don't EVER consider the damage their negativity can pose on the program.  I've read plenty on the net deny that negativity on boards has an effect, well, it does.  Too many former players have talked about how much impact the message boards have during recruiting.  This board has always been so civil and frankly, more intellectual than pretty much all others.  And I respect the tight relationship that happened with the Virtual Swamp.  I like a lot of those guys down there.

Anyways... I'm saddened by this but boy do I understand.

Thanks for a job well done with the board and especially the moderating! You have kept this place very clear of clutter and maintained a friendly atmosphere that is enjoyable to be a part of for all these years. New friends have come on board and others we have lost. Thanks Jeff and I don't even care you haven't learned to spell our last name correctly, yet!

I love posting on here, and I don't even look at any of the others...................................this is a great place to BITCH ABOUT and cheer for the VOLS.

Thanks for keeping it going BOSS, I hope it keeps going, and would pay some to ensure this.

You have done a yeoman's job here, Jeff, and I have made several good friends here.

That being said, the tone is definitely a bit different now than when it was on the 'duck. It is a bit less welcoming for non-Vol drop by's.  For life getting busier and other reasons, I don't come by daily as I once did (hell, I barely pop by once a week to have a look).

Hope it stays around in some form, where else can I go to say "Not mine" ?

I believe the tone changed long before we left the Mudduck... I just think non-Vol regulars didn't notice it until the board itself began to look dissimilar.

As an update, I have had several inquiries from interested parties and I'm confident VTTW will live on... it's just a question of what sort of structure of ownership and administration we will be looking at.

I don't know a thing about this but if someone else is willing to take this over, and the cost would be too much for them  maybe we could pay something yearly to read and post here?  Just a thought.

I don't think the cost will be the issue if people want to stay with a board of this type. It's not really that expensive.

To further clarify, money is not the reason why I want out.

Well, as a salesman I used to have told his largest customer when he lost them, "Well, you sure was good while you lasted".  As one of the early adopters, this board has been a part of my routine for a lot of years now, and while I am no longer an active poster, I still check in daily.  It has been a very good board over the years, and while it has changed substantially, one thing has not--there are some mighty good folks here, and you are one of them.  I appreciate everything.

I used to post on this board every day, in or out of football season. I stopped posting on a regular basis about five years ago but I still lurk. I've enjoyed it a lot over the years and thank you, ReVOLver, for making this site and maintaining it for so long.

I've had to let this sink in for a few days before I could post.   Bossman, this has been the best Vol board on the Internet for years.    I have met so many friends through the years...I remember our very first tailgate....my Dad came with me because he didn't want me coming around a bunch of strange men alone!!!  Ha!   Like I couldn't have whipped you all!  Woooo!  Me and Pirate going to Athens in the T-bird.....the tailgate for the SECC game!   Lots of memories!!!    Thank you for all the great years...life goes on and changes all along the way.....and I guess is time for another big change in our lives.   Hopefully, someone will take on the ask of keeping VTTW alive...if not, well...it's been a great run!  Love you Bossman!   You are a very special man!

I think it's a bummer. Hope the board survives. Where will I share my wisdom if it folds?

I put off replying to this for a few days because I was a little shocked reading the opening thread. I've been around since the Vols won the MNC, what, 14 years? This place is so much more than a sports board. I remember calling my brother at work and telling him that Spurrier was about to resign from UF and him telling me that I was full of shizzle because it wasn't on ESPN. I remember crying on the days that Guido and Tango passed, meeting guys like OJ and Pete through VTTW and recently my wife was shocked when Tony shouted my name, calling us over to his tailgate at the UT - UF game after a eight year hiatus.

Jeff, thanks for all that you have given us, it's a true blessing. However, I'm not ready to let it go. I will do what ever is needed to keep it going

I'm not sure what that means but the reason is, it's just time.
