According to Finebaum on First Take.

It's  Nah.  Gonna.  Happen.

Then again, Tamu is rolling in cash.

But (channeling my best volsboy imitiation) Why do they want a get a coach that just had a losing season?  That's not good enough, and sure not worth the money they are offering.  I know he won an NC, but that was 5 years ago with the perfect QB for his system and they haven't done shizzle since.  I know Tamu can do better than that.  I don't want a guy who just had a losing season.  Tamu can do better.

And while I am at it, what has Saban done lately?  Why does he allow the horrible passer Jane Hurts to run the offense (first trans-gendered QB in the NCAA!#bamaproud)?  Locker room rebellion against white QBs?  Is he finally losing control?  Hell, they almost lost to MSU and Tamu this year.  Then they got punked by Auburn.  Hasn't won the NC since 2015.  You'd think he'd do better with that NFL team he has every single year.  They better hope to get lucky and back into another playoff like they backed into the rematch with LSU in 2011 or he will be on the hotseat after this.  Not even making the playoffs is unacceptable at bammer, I don't care what he has done before, with all the talent he has there is not an excuse for this.

And anyway, they "only"  offered $7.5 million a year.  He already makes $5.7 million.  What rock you been hiding under?  Saban makes $11 million a year.  $7.5 is not really throwing the sink, I don't think.

A lot of coaches are good when they have a once in a lifetime qb, once they graduate they don't look as good. Saban is about the only one who has won at a high level consistently without a once in a lifetime qb. Think about those Saban teams with a Manziel, Newton,Winston, Mariota, Jackson or Watson.

Righhht.  He's the only one.

Meyer never did that, did he?  Or Carroll?  Or Bowden? Or  Erikson? Or Osbourne?  Or Bear?  Or Switzer?  Or Akers? Or Parasegian?  I'd go back to Neyland, but I'm sticking to coaches I know from my lifetime that won multiple NCs.  There are 2-3 a decade.   Maybe you should crack a book some time....
